National Peanut Board to set direction

Quarterly board meeting planned for July 19 and 20, 2017 in Florida

The Board begins the planning process each year by assessing consumer attitudes and market conditions and setting strategic objectives to advance its mission of improving the economic condition of USA peanut farmers and their families through compelling promotion and groundbreaking research. ATLANTA — The National Peanut Board will set strategic direction for the FY-18 program of work and budget at its next quarterly board meeting July 19 and 20, 2017 at Miramar Beach, Fla. The meeting will precede the 19th Annual Southern Peanut Growers Conference July 20-22 at the same location. All NPB meetings will take place in Baytowne Conference Center, Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, 9300 Emerald Coast Pkwy., Destin, Fla., 32541. Phone: (850) 267-8000 or (800) 622-1038.

The National Peanut Board’s FY-18 begins Nov. 1, 2017 and ends Oct. 31, 2018. The board and committee meeting schedule is as follows:

10:15 – 10:45 a.m.                        General Session

10:45 – 12:00 p.m.                        Domestic Promotions Committee

12:00 – 1:00 p.m.                          Lunch

1:00 – 1:30 p.m.                            Budget & Finance Committee

1:30 – 2:00 p.m.                            Export Committee

2:00 – 2:15 p.m.                             Presentation: UGA Sustainability Pilot Project, Emily Braswell

2:15 – 2:30 p.m.                            Break

2:30 – 5:00 p.m.                            FY-18 Program of Work Presentation

5:00 p.m.                                        Adjourn for day

THURSDAY, JULY 20, 2017

8:30 – 9:30 a.m.                            FY – 18 Program of Work & Budget Work Session

Discussion/Q & A on presented recommendations; Detailed review of plan and associated costs; Instructions to staff for additional research, changes, additions or recalculations

9:30– 10:30 a.m.                           Final Review of FY-18 Budget for approval

10:30 – 10:45 a.m.                        Break

10:45 – 11:45 a.m.                        General Session reconvenes

12:00 p.m.                                      Adjournment
