RALEIGH, N.C. — Our state’s farmers markets are unique destinations where we get to know the community’s farmers and shop for local produce, protein and value-added agriculture products.
The Farmers Market Coalition works nationally to help grow and support the farmers market industry and especially the farmers market operators — the market managers, staff, or volunteers that organize and run the farmers market for their community week after week. These valuable folks behind-the-scenes have a lot to juggle on a regular basis.
To ensure that market staff across the country gets the most out of National Farmers Market Week without too much additional work, each year FMC makes over 30 downloadable templates, tools, graphics, and resources available for farmers market operators to use to plan and celebrate National Farmers Market Week.
Markets that start promotions early get the most rewarding impacts!

Explore Farmers Markets. Use the Visit NC Farms App My Trips builder and go!
The Visit NC Farms App serves as a public information digital tool promoting local farms, fisheries, farmers markets and other agribusinesses how, where and when they are open to visitors.
With 76 of 100 counties in the state involved in the Visit NC Farms App now, view the map to see if your community’s farms, fisheries and businesses connected to agriculture are active.
Buncombe County (Asheville area) is adding destinations on the app now and reaching out to neighboring counties to join as a WNC region. County decision-makers in communities that are not yet involved are urged to claim a portion of the cost-share to join the marketing initiative.
