INDIANAPOLIS — For the first time in its history, the National Swine Registry (NSR) will host the Exposition Swine Show in Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, June 13-19. The Exposition was historically held in conjunction with the World Pork Expo, the world’s largest pork industry-specific trade show, in Des Moines, Iowa until 2019 when it was established as a separate, stand-alone event.
The week-long event features both an open show and a junior show, vendor space and various contests, and wraps up on Saturday with the NSR sale where Duroc, Hampshire, Landrace, Yorkshire, and Crossbred boars and gilts will be sold to swine breeders from across the country. Vendors include boutiques, clothing shops, show supply trailers, and various agricultural businesses.
According to the National Swine Registry, numbers for the Exposition Swine Show have increased exponentially in the past several years. The 2021 Exposition has drawn more than 5,500 entries – a record-breaking number. The Exposition also expects to host up to 5,000 attendees. The NSR cites the State Fairgrounds as having the facilities and space to allow for significant event growth.

The National Swine Registry (NSR) was formed in 1994 as a result of the consolidation of the American Yorkshire Club, the Hampshire Swine Registry, and the United Duroc Swine Registry. The American Landrace Association later joined the NSR in 1998. Based in West Lafayette, Indiana, the National Junior Swine Association is the junior organization within the National Swine Registry.
