BOONTON, N.J. — We are excited to announce our next webinar: Understanding Harmful Algal Blooms in New Jersey with Dr Stephen Souza (Clean Waters Consulting) on Thursday June 11th at 7PM.
This webinar will refresh our understanding of what causes harmful algal blooms, consider the potential threat in 2020, and discuss different options to mitigate water contamination. Following the presentation there will be a live Q&A with Dr Souza.
In 2019 a number of lakes throughout northern NJ were forced to close to swimming and some other forms of passive recreation as a result of harmful algal blooms or HABs. The effect was devastating for the regions of Lake Hopatcong and Greenwood Lake, particularly the local businesses which depend on their lakes to attract visitors. However, there are many practical solutions available to get ahead of the issue and prevent them reoccurring.
We look forward to your joining us and our partners ANJEC and NJ LCV on Thursday evening at 7PM for a lively and engaging presentation.
