RALEIGH, N.C. — In an effort to promote North Carolina women in agriculture, the N.C. Biotechnology Center’s Ag Sector Development team, N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, N.C. Farm Bureau, and Feed the Dialogue N.C. have partnered to launch the Ponytail Ag campaign. This collaboration will highlight the contributions of women to agriculture across our state.
The campaign will place a large focus on social media, using platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and blog posts to showcase the magnitude and diversity of our state’s No. 1 industry, agriculture. Follow along with the hashtag #PonytailAg.
The tour will kick off this month with the first stops in Research Triangle Park on Aug. 14 and 15. Other tour stops and dates include:
Aug. 26-27: Eastern N.C.
Aug. 28-29: Piedmont Region
Sept. 9-11: Research Triangle Park
Oct. 7-9: Western N.C.
Nov. 7-8: Charlotte Region
Nov. 18-21: Southeast Region
The tour was initiated to promote the large variety of opportunities available in agriculture throughout N.C., both on and off the farm, and to highlight that women are integral to the industry. By utilizing social outlets, local and national audiences will have the ability to experience agriculture firsthand through live video, interviews, and photos.
