ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Youth Beef Experience Program (MYBEP) is proud to award eleven heifer calves to FFA, 4-H and Junior Breed Association youth from a pool of over 70 strong and worthy applicants. MYBEP is proud to have generated over 130 mentorships over the last fifteen years as a way to help passionate youth between the ages of 12 and 16 build on their dreams. Every recipient will be responsible for raising, breeding and maintaining complete records on the care of the animal, while providing monthly progress reports to the donor/mentor, the breed representative, and the Minnesota Beef Expo. The year-long mentorship between the donor and the recipient will be essential to this experience. The recipient is fortunate to work with experienced cattlepeople who provided heifers as a way to increase beef knowledge and create connections in the industry. The eleven recipients were selected by earning the high score average from five judges. This was an extremely talented group of applicants, and it was a difficult decision to narrow it to only eleven. We are grateful to all of the youth who took the time to apply as it was evident the hard work that went in to each application, and we encourage each of you to keep reaching for your dreams.

We believe the future for agriculture will be bright because of the sacrifice and kindness demonstrated by the donors of these heifers who not only provide a heifer, but also their time to mentor the young cattleperson. We are confident the future for agriculture will be strong with these passionate and talented young people to lead the way.
