ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. — Selling muscadine grapes? Want to sell Muscadines? The North Carolina Muscadine Grape Association and the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association are holding a Muscadine Food Safety 101 Virtual Workshop on Tuesday, June 28 at 1:00 pm ET. The workshop is free.
Whether you are selling direct to consumers, have a pick your own (PYO), or sell through wholesale, this intro session will include food safety best practices for all market and will include strategies for safe picking, handling, storage, and transportation of your product. Have you been asked for GAP certification? Â A quick overview of GAP will answer basic questions regarding costs, the certification process, and what a successful audit might do to help your market access.
The NC Muscadine Grape Association is a membership association of growers, wineries, researchers, and others involved with muscadines. Carolina Farm Stewardship Association has a long track record working with Carolina farmers and helping them access markets.
