Digital storytelling is an interdisciplinary degree program in the MU School of Visual Studies that combines narrative and conceptually driven studies with new and emerging multimedia tools to achieve a balance between aesthetic and imagination, says Lee Ann Woolery, School of Visual Studies outreach coordinator. Areas of study include digital storytelling production, video art and animation.
“In arenas ranging from public health to video games to museum education, digital content creators are in high demand across business, government, nonprofit and artistic research sectors,” Woolery says.
The School of Visual Studies (SVS) brings the academic resources of the University to Missouri to communities through collaborative engagements such as the Art on the Move outreach program(opens in new window), in which SVS students and alumni share their art with people across the state. Art on the Move provides hands-on professional career-building opportunities for SVS students and alumni, and plays an instrumental part in recruiting the next generation of SVS students.
