COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute (MU FRTI) provides aircraft rescue and fire fighting training throughout Missouri and the country. The program services nearly forty airports nationally to provide required training to meet FAA regulations. During the 2019 fiscal year, the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) program provided training to nearly 2,000 firefighters that provide service to commercial airports. We are currently seeking interested candidates for the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Program Specialist position. Come be a part of the University of Missouri Extension and the MU FRTI team.

Position overview
The ARFF Program Specialist of the Fire and Rescue Training Institute is responsible for managing and coordinating the operational activities of our nationally recognized Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) program, along with other specialized assignments. This position has responsibility to deliver courses under grant, contract, and fee based funding, and to solicit and seek additional funding opportunities for training within their area of specialization. This position is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of full and part-time adjunct, and contract instructors that are qualified in the specific disciplines, and other staff as assigned. This position may also provide technical assistance to public and private sector agencies and reports to the director of MU FRTI.
