STOCKTON, Mo. — “Proper cattle management is important to optimum cattle operation production,” says Patrick Davis MU Extension Regional Livestock Field Specialist. Therefore, MU Extension Livestock Specialists are working together to provide beef cattle producers workshops on the evenings of March 2nd in Hermitage, Mo. (Hickory County MU Extension Center, 18715 Cedar St, Hermitage, MO 65668) and March 4th in Lebanon, Mo. (Laclede County MU Extension Center, 186 N Adams Ave, Lebanon, MO 65536) beginning a 6:00 p. m. each evening. The workshops will be held in the MU Extension centers of these respective cities. Each workshop will be limited to 10 participants, masks will be required, and social distancing will be practiced in accordance with MU Extension COVID-19 guidelines.
“Workshops will cover general cattle management practices for optimum cattle operation production,” says Davis. Specific topics covered will include:
- Cattle nutrition
- Cattle reproductive management
- Culling cow management
- Record keeping basics
Workshops are free to the be public but please register by March 1st for the Hermitage, Mo. workshop or by March 3rd for the Lebanon, Mo. workshop.
