MONROE CO., N.Y. — The Monroe County 4-H program will be holding its annual 4-H Expo at Ontario Beach Park from 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 14. This free, family-friendly event will introduce the 4-H program to the community through interaction with many of the established 4-H clubs operating in Monroe County.
The 4-H Expo will provide a venue for 4-H members to display their accomplishments and projects, some chosen for the New York State Fair in Syracuse next month. Even the youngest 4-H members, called Cloverbuds and aged 5-7 years old, will have the opportunity to show off their work.
The entire community is invited to attend the event and participate. Interactive activities and demonstrations, including robotics, will take place throughout the day. There will also be a petting zoo, crafts, giveaways, and live music. Some of the organizations scheduled to attend are:
REC on the Move
McGruff the Crime Dog
Webster Robotics Club
Rochester Fire Department Fire Safety House
ROC Animal School
Monroe County Sheriff Mounted Patrol
DARE Mustang
Road Dog Café (food truck)
Impact Earth

The event is sponsored, in part, by the Monroe County Parks Department.
The Monroe County 4-H Program is offered through Cornell Cooperative Extension to the youth of Monroe County. 4-H is a worldwide youth development program open to all youth aged 5-to-19, who want to have fun, learn new skills, and explore the world. In return, youth who participate in 4-H find a supportive environment and opportunities for hands-on or “experiential” learning about things that interest them.
