ST. CLOUD, Minn. — The Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association is excited to host their annual tour on September 1st, 2021, 6pm-9pm. The event will be hosted at Clint and Roxane Kathrein’s operation, 11865 195th St., Little Falls, MN 56345.
The event will begin with a welcome from the University of Minnesota Beef Team at 6:30pm and then progress to a meal, sponsored by Purina Animal Nutrition. At 7pm, Clint Kathrein will lead the farm tour around the operation and lead the cattle handling facility discussion. At 7:30pm a presentation about Zoetis Inherit Select will be presented by Lee Leachman. Leachman Cattle of Colorado is the 4th largest seedstock producer in the U. S. marketing over 2,500 bull in multiple breeds annually. The presentation will focus on the program Inherit. Inherit is a DNA test designed for commercial cattle. Inherit provides EPD’s, replacement selection, if cattle are homo colored, homo polled or not. Lee will also discuss the importance of crossbreeding and how Leachman Cattle of Colorado has implemented these strategies to help raise and service their seed stock customers.
At 8:30pm attendees are on their own and encouraged to ask questions and look around the farm. Attendees are free to socialize with their fellows until the conclusion of the event.
