MORRIS, Minn. — The Minnesota State Fair and Minnesota Farm Bureau work in conjunction on the Century Farm Recognition Program to honor Minnesota families that have owned their farms for at least 100 years, are at least 50 acres in size, and are currently involved in agriculture production. Since the program began in 1976, nearly 11,000 Minnesota farms have been recognized.
Each year, Century Farm recipients receive a commemorative outdoor sign designating the farm as a “Century Farm” and a certificate signed by presidents of the Minnesota Farm Bureau and Minnesota State Fair and the governor of Minnesota. The deadline for applications is March 6, 2023. Sesquicentennial Farms
The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation honors Minnesota families that have owned their farms for at least 150 years, are at least 50 acres in size, and are currently involved in agriculture production. Since its inception, over 450 Minnesota farms have been honored with Sesquicentennial Farm recognition.
A commemorative certificate signed by the governor of Minnesota, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and president of the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation will be awarded to qualifying families, along with an outdoor sign signifying Sesquicentennial Farm recognition.
