MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. — The Minnesota Beef Research and Promotion Council is seeking candidates for their board elections. Candidates will be selected through mail ballot elections conducted by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) in March. The candidate registration deadline is January 26, 2018.
These farmer/leaders will serve a three-year term directing the investment of the beef research and promotion council’s check-off program. Nominees are required to reside within the area to be represented. Council members shall be residents of the State of Minnesota of legal voting age, and be participating cattle producers or feeders.
Those interested in running for the vacant positions will need to complete the candidate registration forms which can be found at https://mnbeef.org/about-mbc/board-of-directors/. The open beef council board positions include:
District 1 – Becker, Clay, Clearwater, Kittson, Mahnomen, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk,
Red Lake, Roseau
District 2&3 – Beltrami, Cass, Cook, Hubbard, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, St. Louis
District 5 – Benton, Carver, Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Morrison, Renville, Scott, Sherburne, Sibley, Stearns, Todd, Wadena, Wright
District 7 – Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock
District 8 – Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Freeborn, LeSueur, Martin, Nicollet, Rice, Steele, Waseca,
Watonwan
District 9 – Dakota, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Goodhue, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha, Winona
