Middlesex County 4-H Project GIFT celebrates 25 years of giving!

Over 75 4-H teens assisted with the fundraising and running of this event

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Middlesex County 4-H’s annual Project GIFT Holiday charitable event provides a free day of holiday shopping for over 130 families in need in Middlesex County, serving children from infants to age 18. This year Project GIFT celebrates 25 years of giving.

Over 75 4-H teens assisted with the fundraising and running of this event, donating many hours of their time throughout the year to raise funds ensuring the success the event’s success.

In the 25 years of outreach Project Gift has achieved the following:

  • Over 6500 youth reached
  • Almost $250,000 raised through donations and fundraising
  • More than 20,000 gifts given
  • Over 75,000 hours of 4-H youth volunteer service
  • Collaborations with 20 different community agencies

Due to privacy concerns, the Project GIFT event itself is not be open to the media or the public, but on December 17 the set-up session will offer the press a chance to meet and speak with the 4-H members, who have worked so hard to positively impact the holidays of local families in need. Journalists will be able to conduct interviews with the organizers and photograph them in the gift-filled room where the event will take place.

Interested press members should arrive between 1 and 3 pm and should RSVP by Thursday, December 15 to 732-398-5268 or lbovitz@njaes.rutgers.edu. The event will take place at the Middlesex County 4-H Center, 645 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
