“We are very excited to have Ben join our Farm Credit team,” says Jim McCabe, MidAtlantic Farm Credit Lending Manager. “His agricultural background and work experience will allow him to provide our members with industry knowledge and service.”
In his role as a loan officer, Somers will be working with customers to guide them through the various financing options for their specific needs. “I want our members to know that they are part of a family, one that will be there with them in the good times and bad,” says Somers. “I will be a knowledgeable resource and provide them with the financial guidance to build and grow their operation.”
Somers, a resident of Milford, Delaware, earned his degree in Food and Agribusiness Marketing and Management from the University of Delaware. Prior to his role at Farm Credit, Somers worked as a General Manager for Fastenal where he was responsible for all aspects of store business, branch operations, servicing key accounts, and inventory management. He grew up on a century dairy farm in Newark, Delaware and has participated in numerous agriculture organizations, including the Delaware FFA Association and 4-H Organization.
