LANSING — Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) Executive Director Jim Zook released the following statement applauding the important step taken by U.S., Mexican and Canadian officials in signing the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
“The trade relationship with our partners in Mexico and Canada is deeply important to Michigan’s corn farmers, enabling us to export $3.2 billion of corn and corn products to Mexico and Canada last year. Today’s signing of the new USMCA is good news and will help move the U.S. toward a modernized trade agreement with these important partners. MCGA thanks all of the parties for their diligent work on this agreement and we look forward to engaging with Congress to get this agreement through the next step of the process.”
