GOSHEN, Ind. — Community garden plots at the Elkhart Airport will be available in the spring for the 2019 gardening season. Attend a Michiana Master Gardener seminar at the Elkhart Environmental Center on March 30, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Learn about the history of this garden, soil properties, growing organic crops, and what works and what doesn’t. The program is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. The cost to lease a 20 x 20 garden space is $10, a second garden space will be $8.
The Elkhart Environmental Center is located at 1717 E Lusher Street in Elkhart, IN 46516. The Airport Community Garden is south of the Elkhart Airport and north of Bristol Street in Elkhart off County Rd 5. Plots must be kept neat and weeded regularly all summer. Enjoy the taste of your own vegetables grown in a full sun environment.
