ST PAUL — U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue met with Minnesota farmers, business leaders and others on Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) President Kevin Paap’s farm.
“It was an honor to host Secretary Perdue on our farm. He has made it very clear that he wants to hear from farmers and ranchers who have a boots on the ground perspective, and the ‘Back to Our Roots’ tour provided an opportunity for Minnesota to be a part of that conversation,” said MFBF President Paap.
“The Secretary was able to hear from different generations of farmers, as well as, agricultural businesses,” said MFBF President Paap. “It was also important for us to hear from the Secretary on the role he is playing in the President’s administration to ensure that farmers and ranchers have a seat at the table.”
The Secretary’s visit to Minnesota was a part of a five-state RV tour, titled the “Back to Our Roots” Tour, to gather input on the 2018 Farm Bill and increasing rural prosperity.
