LANSING — Nine Farm Bureau members have been appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to serve on the Michigan Wheat Promotion Committee, Michigan Dairy Market Program Committee and Michigan Apple Committee.
Michigan Wheat Promotion Committee
- Jeffery Krohn, a Huron County Farm Bureau member from Owendale, is the manager of his family’s farm where they grow wheat, alfalfa, corn,
soybeans, dry beans, and sugar beets. He is the owner of Northern Thumb Crop Consulting Inc. Krohn is appointed to represent District 7 growers and succeeds David Milligan. - Sally McConnachie, a Sanilac County Farm Bureau member from Deckerville, is a partner and office manager of Dave’s Dirt LLC where they grow wheat, sugar beets, and edible dry beans. She is the Michigan director for the National Association of Wheat Growers. McConnachie is reappointed to represent District 5 growers.
- Carl R. Wagner, III, a Berrien County Farm Bureau member from Niles, is a member of Wagner Family Farms LLC, a retail agronomist for Co-Alliance LLP, and the owner and operator of C3 Seeds. Wagner is appointed to represent District 2 growers and succeeds Marc Hasenick.
Krohn, McConnachie and Wagner will serve on the committee through May 31, 2023.
Michigan Dairy Market Program Committee
- Jeremy Beebe, an Ogemaw County Farm Bureau member from Whittemore, is the owner of Double B Dairy LLC. Beebe is appointed to represent the Michigan Milk Producers Association and succeeds Rodney Daniels.
- Eric Frahm, a Saginaw County Farm Bureau member from Frankenmuth, is the owner of Golden Elm Dairy. Frahm is reappointed to represent the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
- Jeffrey Horning, a Washtenaw County Farm Bureau member from Manchester, is the owner of Horning Farms LLC. Horning is reappointed to represent the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
- Corby Werth, a Huron Shores Farm Bureau member from Alpena, is a partner owner with Werth Dairy LLC. Werth is reappointed to represent the Michigan Milk Producers Association.
Beebe will serve on the committee through Dec. 31, 2020. Frahm, Horning and Werth will serve through Dec. 31, 2022.
Michigan Apple Committee
- Michael Dietrich, an Ottawa County Farm Bureau member from Conklin, is the manager of Homestead Orchards, a family-owned apple and cherry orchard. Dietrich is reappointed to represent District 3 growers.
- Jeremy Shank, a Cass County Farm Bureau member from Dowagiac, is the vice president of Central Produce Sales Inc. Shank is reappointed to represent District 1 growers.
Dietrich and Shank will serve on the committee through April 1, 2023.
