ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Farm Bureau (MFB) Foundation Auction was held on November 17 at the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation’s 99th Annual Meeting. The auction raised over $15,000 because of the generosity of county Farm Bureaus, organizations and individuals who donated, bid on and purchased items. Of this, over $5,000 will go towards a matching grant program for hunger relief program across the state of Minnesota.
The Foundation Auction is one of four main fundraising events for the Foundation. The other fundraisers include a Sporting Clays Tournament summer of 2018, a Golf Scramble to be held June 26, 2018 in Cottage Grove and a pork chop stand at Farmfest near Redwood Falls, August 7-9, 2018. Support of these events allows the Foundation to accomplish its mission to provide opportunities for supporters of agriculture to invest in people and programs that promote agriculture and the environment through safety training, agricultural education and leadership training. Along with fundraising events, donations are appreciated at any time during the year.
This past year the MFB Foundation donated to organizations such as: Minnesota 4-H Foundation, Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom, Minnesota Agriculture Ambassador Institute, Minnesota Agriculture and Rural Leadership Program, Minnesota Association of Agriculture Educators and the Minnesota FFA Foundation.
