EAST LANSING, Mich. — Indiana cattle and calves cash receipts totaled $394.0 million in 2019, up 13 percent from 2018, according to Marlo Johnson, Regional Director of the USDA, NASS, Great Lakes Regional Office. Cattle and calf marketings totaled 373.1 million pounds, up 13 percent from 2018.
Indiana hog cash receipts totaled $1.2 billion in 2019, up 3 percent from 2018. All hog and pig marketings totaled 2.3 billion pounds, up 1 percent from 2018.
Nationally, cash receipts from marketings of cattle and calves decreased 1 percent from $67.0 billion in 2018 to $66.2 billion in 2019. All cattle and calf marketings totaled 58.4 billion pounds in 2019, down 1 percent from 2018.
Nationally, cash receipts from hogs and pigs totaled $22.0 billion during 2019, up 5 percent from 2018. Marketings totaled 41.6 billion pounds in 2019, up 5 percent from 2018.
