TIMONIUM, Md. — This week, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski announced that the Baltimore County COVID-19 Testing and Vaccine Clinic at the Maryland State Fairgrounds will be converted to a mass testing and vaccination site.
Baltimore County Executive Olszewski stated at his press conference yesterday, “We are so proud that Baltimore County’s vaccine clinic here at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium has been consistently recognized as the best operation in the State of Maryland as well as a national model on how to provide effective, efficient and compassionate service to all of our residents and neighbors.”
“The governor’s office recognized this and approached us about a partnership at Baltimore County’s site. As part of this new collaboration, the state has committed to provide a much-needed increase in vaccine supply to our Health Department, ensuring we can further expand access for residents across Baltimore County and beyond,” added Olszewski in his press release. “We welcome this opportunity to work together to vaccinate even more Marylanders, helping to finally bring this pandemic to an end.”
Other buildings at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, in addition to the current Cow Palace site, will be utilized to help meet the need for increased testing and vaccinations. “We are here to be good neighbors and work with the State, the County, and our community with our mutual efforts to put an end to this pandemic,” said Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society Board Chairman Gerry L. Brewster.
“We are pleased that the efficiency and effectiveness of Baltimore County’s testing and vaccination clinic in our Cow Palace has been applauded by community members and government officials,” said Maryland State Fair & Agricultural Society General Manager Andy Cashman. “It is our privilege to be of help during this time of need.”
