MCA Summer Round-Up heads to Cow Camp

Come to McBain June 17-20 for weekend of camping, entertainment & producer education

Michigan cattlemen and women will bring their families, and their campers, to McBain, Michigan for the 2021 MCA Summer Round-Up, presented by Quality Ag Service, June 17-29 at Hughston's Cow Camp.

OKEMOS, Mich. — Michigan cattlemen and women will bring their families, and their campers, to McBain, Michigan for the 2021 MCA Summer Round-Up, presented by Quality Ag Service, June 17-29 at Hughston’s Cow Camp. The event will include a variety of family-focused activities, entertainment and learning opportunities providing fun for all ages. Campers are welcome to begin arriving Thursday, June 17th at Cow Camp, located on S. Green Road just 1 mile North and 1 mile West of McBain, MI.  Camping is free for the weekend with a Summer Round-Up registration.  Lodging is also available at several local hotels.  Registration and lodging info can be found at www.MICattlemen.org

Goat Roping & Corn Hole Fun for All Ages

Free to all Summer Round-Up attendees, folks of all ages can test their skills in the Goat Roping Competition which is sure to be a good time your young and old alike!  With your roping arm fully loosened up, put it to the test in the Round-up Corn-Hole Tournament as well.

Enjoy Cowboy Country Music with a Rock & Roll Attitude!

Rock Friday night away with the Bob Marshall Band, A REAL cowboy bringing you REAL Country and Western music!  Bob Marshall has rodeo’ed professionally for 30 years, raised and trained horses, and still runs a horse training and boarding facility.  Bob was awarded the 2020 “Outstanding Vocalist of the Year” by the Fair Play Country Music Red Carpet Music Awards, in the Netherlands and once again Bob has been nominated by the Detroit Music Awards for “Outstanding Country Songwriter of the Year” for 2021.

Beef Quality Assurance Training & Recertification Opportunity

After a morning feedlot tour, an in-person Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) training & recertification will be held Saturday June 18th and is free for all MCA members.  Certification must be renewed every three years to meet BQA and packer guidelines.  This training session is a one-hour presentation, will include live cattle demonstrations and participants will receive their BQA certification on-site.  Don’t miss this in-person training opportunity to get your BQA certification completed.

“The MCA Events Committee has put together an outdoor program focused on family-oriented activities and really practical producer education,” says MCA President Dave Girton.  “The Round-Up is a great example of the value MCA provides to Michigan cattle producers.  I urge everyone to register and join us in McBain!”
