JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County Master Gardeners Program has kicked off the 2022 year with several changes and the restart of many volunteer activities. Some of these activities are participation in the Audubon Snowflake Festival, Grow Jamestown Garden Fair, and the popular Gardener Helpdesk. Preparations are beginning for the Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale, with a date to be announced in early spring. CCE Master Gardener program is excited to welcome new Master Gardener program coordinator, Shannon Rinow.
CCE Master Gardeners are honored to announce those who successfully received Master Gardener’s certification by completing their 32 hour of training and volunteering 50 hours of service in the community. These new certified members are Patricia Borowski, Colleen Brentley, Carey Cassillo-Young, Melinda Drabant, Emilie Gifford, Dinah Hovey, Cheryl Mawhinney, Deborah McAndrews, Betty Perkins, Johanna Robb, and Karen Wojcinski.
The following volunteers were awarded pins for their volunteer service:
500 hours – Susanne Bloom, Nancy Jager, Nick Stupiansky, Sandra Stupiansky, and Cheryl Wahlstrom.
300 hours – Deborah McAndrews, and Andy McLean.
100 Hours – Colleen Brentley and Karen Wojcinski.
The Master Gardener program is a national volunteer program that provides educational programs on horticultural topics. The mission of the Chautauqua County Master Gardeners program is to educate and serve the community, utilizing university researched based horticultural information.
