COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — The Penn State Extension’s Master Gardeners of Montgomery County will hold their 21th annual Plant Sale on May 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1015 Bridge Road in Collegeville. The Plant Sale will take place rain or shine under roofed pavilions. Proceeds from the Plant Sale support Penn State Extension’s Montgomery County’s Master Gardeners in terms of learning gardens, continuing education and public outreach.
The Plant Sale is a great event for residents who not only want plants to start or improve their garden but also the guidance to do it well. Knowledgeable Master Gardeners will be present to answer gardening questions, provide information on what plants are best for your site, and trouble-shoot home garden, lawn, tree and shrub problems.
The sale features thousands of popular and specialty annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, herbs, vegetables, native plants, pond plants and master gardener-grown plants. There will also be a homeowner learning booth, including tips on Spotted Lanternfly, how to have your soil tested by Penn State, and other useful information. Purchases can be paid for by check, cash or credit card.
Visitors are also welcome to tour the Master Gardeners’ learning gardens on site.
In conjunction with the Penn State Cooperative Extension, the Montgomery County Master Gardener program seeks to educate community residents on horticultural matters; answer questions regarding gardening problems around the home, support community gardens for towns and schools; and has a speaker’s bureau to provide horticultural education to interested community groups around the County. The Master Gardener Helpline is also available from the first of April through the end of October weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling 610-489-4315 or by visiting the Montgomery County Master Gardener office in the Penn State Cooperative Extension office at 1015 Bridge Road in Collegeville.
