Master gardeners plan plant clinics

Eight master gardener plant clinics have been scheduled for February

Master gardeners are volunteers who answer gardening questions at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, present horticultural classes to community groups, and staff information booths at fairs and garden shows. (Heather Cowper, Flickr/Creative Commons; www.heatheronhertravels.com/.)

VOLUSIA CO., Fla. — Volusia County’s master gardeners will share winter gardening tips and answer questions during eight plant clinics in February. Residents can bring their plants for a free check-up.

  • 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave. The gardeners will discuss propagating herbs.
  • 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the Edgewater Public Library, 103 W. Indian River Blvd.
  • 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 4, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St.
  • 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway.
  • 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave. Master Gardener Howard Jeffries and Sandra Hudson will discuss herbs and herb gardening from 11 a.m. to noon.
  • 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Sugar Mill Gardens, 950 Sugar Mill Road, Port Orange.
  • 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the DeBary Public Library, 200 N. Charles R. Beall Blvd.
  • 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle.

Master gardeners are volunteers who answer gardening questions at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, present horticultural classes to community groups, and staff information booths at fairs and garden shows.
