VOLUSIA CO., Fla. — Volusia County’s master gardeners will share winter gardening tips and answer questions during eight plant clinics in December. Residents can bring their plants for a free check-up.
10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave. The gardeners will offer advice on selecting holiday plants for gift giving.
10 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 4, at the Edgewater Public Library, 103 W. Indian River Blvd. Myrna Moore will present a program on succulents.
10 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 4, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 N. Beach St.
1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway. A master gardener will offer tips on container gardening.
10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave. Howard Jeffries will discuss the selection and use of garden tools from 11 a.m. to noon.
10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the DeBary Public Library, 200 N. Charles R. Beall Blvd.
2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle. The gardeners will offer tips on growing Florida hollies.
9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Sugar Mill Gardens, 950 Sugar Mill Road, Port Orange
Master gardeners are volunteers who answer gardening questions at the Volusia County Agricultural Center, present horticultural classes to community groups, and staff information booths at fairs and garden shows.
