MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Everyone expects to see Master Gardener Volunteers working in the garden or educating the community, but their level of volunteerism has a much broader reach in Orange County. The Master Gardeners have put down their tools and hopped in their cars to deliver food to “shelter at home” residents throughout 2020. Partnering with the Cornell Cooperative Extension Gleaning Program, 14 Master Gardener Volunteers have delivered food and fresh produce to 1,250 homes serving over 3,300 Orange County residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
