ACRA, N.Y. — Join us on Sunday, March 11th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM to experience the sweet world of maple sugaring at CCE’s Agroforestry Resource Center located at 6055 Route 23
Acra, New York. At this free indoor and outdoor event, participants can –
- See tapping and boiling demonstrations
- Taste maple sap straight from the tree
- Buy maple goods from vendors
- Talk to local forestry organizations
- Make crafts with 4-H clubs
- Get a delicious hot lunch or maple pastries from See & Be
- View art featuring local artists Stanley Maltzman and Susan Story
Want to dive into maple sugaring a little deeper? In both the morning and afternoon, an outdoor educational program will be offer by CCE staff, Wild Hudson Valley and the Catskill Forest Association. Participants will explore maple sugaring from historical practice to current ones by hearing from local experts. Advance registration and payment is required by March 10th to attend.
