BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Every vegetable gardener’s nightmare is tackling pesky weedy garden invaders that show up just to be a nuisance. It can be a challenge to stay on top of your weeds before they outgrow your vegetables and flowers. Weeds compete for space, sun, water, and nutrients in the garden. How can you prevent or reduce weeds from showing up, or manage those that have grown, without reaching for synthetic herbicides? Join us as we discuss a variety of non-chemical alternatives that can assist in keeping weeds under control.

The webinar will be presented by Laurie George and James Theuri, Local Food Systems & Small Farm Educators from University of Illinois Extension. They will discuss weed types in general and address various options of organically managing weeds in some situations.

Access to the presentation will be through Skype for Business, and can be easily downloaded to your computer prior to the program date. Information on Skype and the program link will be sent to you after the registration process.

This event is free, but registration is required so that you can get the webinar link. Find registration information at: http://web.extension.illinois.edu/gkw/. Registration will close on December 12, 2017.
