ALFRED STATION, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension is excited to announce: Managing Transplants for the Garden.
Once again it’s that time of year! Tomato plants are sitting in their little pots on store shelves, like puppies at the pound, waiting for you to take them home and put them in your garden (the plants – not the puppies).
Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners of Allegany County will be at the Tinkertown Hardware Store in Alfred Station on Saturday, May 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to answer your questions on the following topics: how do I choose the best plants (and pass over the poorly ones); how do I care for them until they are ready to be transplanted into the garden; and what sort of aftercare do they need the first week or so out in the real world.
The workshop is free. We will cover more than just tomatoes – broccoli, peppers, flowers and more. See you there on the 7th of May!
