ARDMORE, Okla. — Noble Research Institute will host a two-part online training series addressing pond management on July 16 and 23. Each webinar will be from noon-12:40 p.m.
The “Managing Existing Fish Populations in a Pond,” training will be held Thursday, July 16. Steven Smith, wildlife and fisheries consultant, will discuss the tools and techniques that can be used to improve and monitor the size of fish and predator-prey balance in a pond, addressing largemouth bass and other fish species.
The last training, “Managing Common Aquatic Vegetation,” will be held Thursday, July 23. Plants in the pond can be beneficial or not so beneficial, and the keys are proper identification and management. Will Moseley, wildlife and fisheries consultant, will discuss how to identify and manage aquatic vegetation commonly seen in ponds.
Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and engage in online discussion during these livestreamed events.
