AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Maine’s agriculture department has unveiled a new marketing program that officials believe will better represent the state’s products.
The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry released the new “Real Maine” logo on Tuesday. The move coincided with the annual Maine Agricultural Trades Show.
The new logo is part of an increased marketing and advertising initiative that is being led by the department, officials said. Agriculture commissioner Amanda Beal said the new strategy takes advantage of how the state’s name and reputation are “synonymous with high-quality and integrity.”
The department’s branding program had been “Get real, get Maine!” since 2001. The new logo will appear at farmers markets, grocery stores, trade events and elsewhere.
