AUGUSTA (AP) — The state of Maine is set to promote Pine Tree State agriculture by holding an agricultural trade show.
The 78th annual fair will take place Jan. 15 through Jan. 17 at the Augusta Civic Center.
The fair will include a presentation about ways farmers can increase resilience to extreme weather. Another topic on the agenda is the challenge posed by Maine’s tight labor market, and ways to keep farming operations staffed throughout the summer through hiring incentive programs.
ReVision Energy will discuss how agricultural businesses are using solar energy to reduce fuel usage. Meanwhile, Maine hemp farmers will discuss ways to brand hemp.
