CHARLESTON, S.C. — More than 30 historic organizations in the Lowcountry will participate in the 5th Annual History Fair. The History Fair will showcase well-known organizations in education, religion, social services, the arts and tourism. Special guest, Wona Womalan, will present traditional Guinean history and culture through authentic West African dancing, drumming and songs. Magnolia Plantation will also be joined by its neighbor Drayton Hall under the Historic Ashley River Plantation District.
All History Fair exhibits are free to attend. Basic garden admission is required to visit the gardens ($20/adults, $10/children ages 6-12 and children under 6 are free).
Those choosing to purchase garden admission will be treated to a special programming including a storyteller, brick-making demonstration, blacksmith demonstrations and cooking demonstrations as well as access to a living history program – “Living History Through the Eyes of the Enslaved.”
