WESTMINSTER, Md. — Farm Credit has announced three agriculture innovation challenge events this fall. These events are structured as one-day technology and innovation ideation workshops to solve real issues facing the agriculture industry.
“We are excited to see what ideas come from these challenge events,” said Andrew Rose, Director of Innovation, Strategy and Development at MidAtlantic Farm Credit. “Programs like these give those who are making strides in our community a platform to share their ideas on how we can make sure agriculture continues to not only thrive, but expand.”
The events will be held on:
- Sept. 27 at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, held during MANRRS week
- Oct. 8 at the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology in Baltimore, held during Baltimore Innovation Week
- Oct. 16 at Barn at the View in Hagerstown, held during Mountain Tech Innovation Week
Each of these events will present four to six challenges sourced from businesses and industry subject matter experts. Participating teams select a challenge to work on during the course of the day, making a seven-minute presentation at the event’s conclusion before a panel of industry experts who provide feedback and will award a prize of up to $1,000.
Participants may apply individually or as a team (up to four members). Team members may be students, entrepreneurs, innovators or anyone interested. For more information, visit mafc.com/agpitch.
