BELKNAP CO., N.H. — On July 6 and 7 UNH Cooperative Extension will host two Women Farmer Lunch Breaks from noon to 1 pm on safety and wellness topics. “Taking Good Care of the Body and the Farm: Ergonomics for Women” will be presented by UNH Extension Field Specialists Kelly McAdam and Elaina Enzien, and UNH Student Intern Catherine Doheny on July 6 at noon. Women farmers are met with a host of production challenges, one of which being – tools aren’t designed for us! Join us for a lunch hour webinar as we discuss how to take care of your greatest tool, your body, while increasing quality and productivity on your farm. Ergonomics helps you adapt your workplace and equipment in a way that relieves stress from your body, making for more efficient and sustainable working conditions. We will also provide time to share any ergonomic tips and tricks you have gleaned from your production experience with your fellow women farmers.
The July 7 webinar “Tips for Understanding and Managing Stress” will be presented by UNH Extension Youth and Family Field Specialists Kendra Lewis and Gail Kennedy from noon to 1 pm. They will walk us through understanding and managing the stressors we have in our lives. Learn some tips for managing stress and achieving a balance in your life. Ample time will be available to discuss with your fellow women farmers, and to ask questions of Kendra and Gail.
