ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Join the CCAC for the second session of our new monthly Webinar series! The Webinar will be held on Zoom on June 24th at 12:00 PM.
Our first guest speaker will be Wayne Stoskopf, Director for Public Policy for Risk Management and Tax for the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA).
He will be giving us an update on all of the legislative items that are happening, including giving an in-depth discussion about the stepped-up basis change discussion that is happening in Washington.
Wayne serves as lead staff for the Risk Management and Transportation Team with NCGA. He previously worked for the Senate Agriculture Committee where, as Senior Professional Staff, he oversaw commodity, crop insurance, disaster, and grain standards programs. He led staff-level negotiations for the commodities and crop insurance titles of the 2018 Farm Bill. Wayne also formerly served as a Legislative Assistant for Senator Pat Roberts and earlier for Rep. Lynn Jenkins, handling agriculture issues in each office. Wayne was raised on his family’s farm near Hoisington, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Agribusiness.
We will also be having a state legislative wrap-up with Garin Vorthmann of Colorado Legislative Strategies. Garin began her political career in Washington, D.C. working for Senator Wayne Allard and ran the government affairs department at Colorado Farm Bureau before joining Colorado Legislative Services in 2007. She became partner in 2012 and steadfastly through her career, Garin has honed her policy knowledge on issues related to agriculture, including water and property rights.
