LOS ALTOS, Calif. — Celebrate the return of the Downtown Los Altos Farmers’ Market on Thursday, May 4th from 4:00 pm to 8:00pm at State St. and Second St.! To kick off the season the farmers’ market will be hosting a variety of festive activities to celebrate the Spring Harvest for both children and adults including Kids Crafts, a delectable sangria tasting, live music and the $100 Market Basket Raffle!

Children attending the Los Altos Certified Farmers’ Market Opening Day will be greeted by monster sized murals to color, and a free kids’ craft. Adults should come ready to enjoy a glass of delicious sangria supplied by the Los Altos Village Association. The sangria will feature locally produced wine from Rainbow Orchards and sweet cherries!
Marketgoers are encouraged to sample Rodriguez Farms vine ripened strawberries, and get prepared for the season’s incoming sweet cherries and berries. Spring vegetables like crisp sugar snap peas from Iacopi Farms, fresh picked coastal lettuces and kales, and flavorful green garlic and leeks are currently in abundance. Doug Hayden, President of the California Farmers’ Market Association, says “We look forward to another successful season of connecting the local community with family farms and gourmet food purveyors.”
The Los Altos Certified Farmers’ Market is a location approved by the County Agricultural Commissioner where farmers offer for sale only those fruits and vegetables they grow themselves.
