FORT WORTH, Texas — Several FFA chapters and 4-H clubs are starting the school year with extra funding thanks to donations from Lone Star Ag Credit.
The rural lending cooperative recently donated $500 to the chapters and clubs of its 2021 scholarship recipients — a total of $4,000. The funds went to FFA chapters at Corsicana, Franklin, Harmony and Muenster high schools, and to 4-H clubs in Bell, Cooke, Navarro and Robertson counties.
The donations are a new addition to Lone Star’s scholarship program, which recognizes outstanding high school seniors who are active in FFA or 4-H.
“We presented scholarships to six graduating seniors in the spring, and presented our new donations to their chapters and clubs over the summer,” said Joe H. Hayman, Lone Star Ag Credit chief executive officer. “It’s an honor to provide this extra support to organizations that play a vital role in agricultural education.”
