ONEIDA CO., N.Y. — Oneida County 4-H would like to take this opportunity to thank local businesses for supporting the upcoming 4-H Public Display, including Peterpaul Recreational Park for the use of their garage to house and host the display. Thanks also to Clinton Tractor for their continued annual support of the 4-H program and sponsoring the “Public Favorite Awards” and other prizes that the 4-H participants can earn.
Approximately 150 4-H projects will be on display on August 14-17, 11am-7pm and August 18, 11am-3pm at Peterpaul Recreational Park 5615 New London Rd. Rome, NY.
One of the featured projects is the Harden Challenge. Harden Furniture of McConnellsville donated several unfinished chairs and signs for our youth to decorate. For fantasy inspiration, 4-H Members attended a field trip to MacKenzie Childs in Aurora, NY. Youth were encouraged to make the chair their own. Simple or fancy it was open to artistic interpretation.
We encourage the public and patrons of Peterpaul Recreation Park to stop by, view the projects and vote for their favorites.
Please note that “Due to COVID-19, CDC Health Guidelines social distancing and wearing masks must be followed. This event may be cancelled if warranted.”
4-H is the largest group serving organization in the nation. Our Learn-by-Doing approach allows youth the opportunity to explore different areas of interest by either working independently or in a club setting. For more information about how you can volunteer or enroll a youth in 4-H please contact the office at 315-736-3394.
