NEW PRAGUE, Minn. — University of Minnesota Extension and Minnesota Dairy Initiative- South Central Region are collaborating to host a free dairy event for dairy producers on Monday March 12 at 12:00pm at First Bank & Trust (formerly State Bank of New Prague), located on 1101 1st St SE, New Prague, MN.
With changing, more unpredictable weather in Minnesota, severe weather can cause catastrophic damage to your facilities and herd. Do you know what to do when disaster happens? Ann Traxler, Le Sueur County Emergency Management Director, will help you prepare an emergency management plan for your livestock when the worst strikes.
Margins in dairy have become thinner, yet pressure to reduce pollution and repair facilities remains higher than ever. Steve Breaker, from Le Sueur County NRCS will inform you about EQIP and other federal opportunities for cost-sharing conservation practices on your dairy operation.
Do you want to know more about feedlot rules or manure management? The final speaker, Dan Vermilyea, Steele County Feedlot Officer, will be on hand to answer your questions.
This is the fourth annual Winter Dairy Series and the final seminar for this year.
