WEST CHESTER, Pa. — In celebration of Pennsylvania 4-H Week, from March 17–23, Chester County 4-H clubs promoted the organization through a window display contest in local store fronts throughout the county providing awareness of the Penn State Extension’s 4-H Youth Development program in Chester County.
This year’s overall winning club for the window display contest was the Tri-Community 4-H Dairy Club with their display set up at the Tractor Supply Company store located in Pottstown, Pa. The display exhibited happenings with the Tri-Community 4-H Dairy Club, as well as the entire 4-H program. It was accompanied by three cow figures sitting on straw bales.
The second overall winning club was SPARKS 4-H Club with their display at the Tractor Supply Company store located in Toughkenamon, Pa. The display highlighted the club’s activities and its members through photos of a variety of hands-on projects.
The contest was open to any club within Penn State Extension’s 4-H Youth Development program within Chester County, and promoted the 4-H program and its clubs’ activities. The displays were evaluated on the following categories: overall design; attractiveness and creativity; and promotion of the 4-H program.
As a culmination to Pennsylvania 4-H Week, the annual Spring Tractor Supply Company Paper Clover campaign kicks off on March 27. The campaign runs March 27 to April 7.
All Chester County Tractor Supply customers can participate in the 2019 Spring Paper Clover campaign by purchasing paper clovers for $1 at register when checking out. The funds raised will assist as scholarships to individual Chester County 4-H members attending 4-H camps and leadership conferences.
