GOSHEN, Ind. — Ever wanted to learn more about livestock production and how to get started? Or are you a producer who wants to learn more information to assist you in decision making on your management practices? Then you need to sign up to participate in Purdue University Extension’s Livestock 101 series that is being offered for free virtually.
This program will teach participants Animal Nutrition, Reproduction, Processing, Animal Health, Marketing and more. Classes will be taught by Extension Educators: Bob Yoder, Robert Kelly, Rachel Rawls and Kelly Heckman.
The first four sessions will be required for participation with the following four sessions that will be species related based upon the registration. The last four sessions will be selected by the participants when you sign up for the class. Species options include: Backyard Poultry, Sheep and Goats, Horses, Small Scale Swine, Beef Cattle, and Rabbits.
The Series will start on April 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All meetings will be held virtually using Zoom. It is highly recommended that participants have access to a computer with a camera and microphone or another device such as a tablet with Internet access.
