JEFFERSON CITY — The 2017 Life Sciences Quest took place last week on the University of Missouri campus. This week-long program, hosted by MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources and the Missouri Department of Agriculture, is aimed at introducing top urban and suburban high school students to careers in agriculture, biotechnology, and life sciences with the hope that they choose a career in agriculture. Activities included extracting DNA and enzymes, discussing ethical issues in agriculture and touring plant and biotechnology companies in St. Louis.
This program has proven to be valuable opportunity to show young people how rewarding and beneficial a career in agriculture can be.
