SANFORD, N.C. — N.C. Cooperative Extension- Lee County Center is pleased to announce 2023 Lee County “Ag Week”, where we will celebrate the rich heritage of farms and farm families in Lee County while embracing future agricultural challenges and opportunities through education, awareness and community engagement.
This year our theme is “Thriving Legacy,” which speaks to the rich history of agriculture in Lee County and the importance of preserving farms and farmland to maintain a well balanced and vibrant community.
Lee County “Ag Week” will run from April 22-29, kicking off with the opening of the Farmers Market in beautiful Downtown Sanford. Special events throughout the week will include classes on gardening, backyard chickens, food preservation, pollinators, as well as daily farm tours, engaging speaker sessions, and a land use and legacy planning workshop.
