COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. — I encourage producers to consider attending an upcoming learning event locally at Northeast Purdue Agricultural Center (NEPAC) near Columbia City, or at Purdue’s Agronomy Center for Research and Education (ACRE) in West Lafayette.

Farther away, the Purdue University Crop Diagnostic Training and Research Center (DTC) is known across the Midwest for its unique “hands-on” approach for teaching the art and science of accurately diagnosing agricultural crop problems. Agriculturalists can sharpen their crop problem trouble-shooting skills and evaluate new and alternative management strategies.
Training workshops and many small plot demonstrations illustrate insect, nematode, weed, soil fertility, disease and cultural problems in corn, soybean, forage, and small grain production. Extension, research and teaching staff from Purdue University and leaders in the agricultural community conduct each workshop.
A majority of the diagnostic training workshops will be conducted at the Purdue Agronomy Center for Research and Education (ACRE) located near West Lafayette, Indiana. ACRE is located approximately five miles west of West Lafayette, Indiana on U.S. 52 (4540 U.S. 52 West, West Lafayette, IN 47906).
