BROOME CO., N.Y. — On Tuesday May 24th at 6:30pm, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County will be presenting a live, in-person, workshop on learning to raise poultry. This session will be a fast-paced, all-inclusive presentation on a variety of topics. Topics that will be covered include: purchasing chicks, brooding birds, comparison of various production models, nutrition, management, processing, and marketing. We also will look briefly at egg production, broiler production and turkey production. We will also discuss the recent avia flu epidemic and how small-scale poultry producers can help stop the spread of this disease.Â
