ST. PAUL, Minn. — Over 225 Farm Bureau members from across the state attended the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) Leadership Conference, February 3-4, at the Sanford Convention Center in Bemidji.
P&E Awards
The MFBF Promotion & Education (P&E) Committee presented two awards at this year’s conference.
“These awards recognize those who work tirelessly to engage with consumers and share their farm story and agriculture’s story so consumers can gain a better understanding of what we do on our farms to produce food, fiber and renewable fuel,” said Debra Durheim, MFBF P&E chair. “Sue and the Hewitts’ investment in Promotion & Education strengthen our relationships with consumers and Farm Bureau’s name as a trusted source about agriculture.”
The Golden Apple Award was presented to someone who has gone above and beyond to work with Agriculture in the Classroom programs and worked to educate others around the clock about farming and ranching. This year’s recipient is Sue Knott – Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom education specialist.
The Advocate of the Year Award is presented to someone who advocates our profession of farming and ranching. This year’s recipients are Mark and Sarah Hewitt – Le Sueur County Farm Bureau members.
